Report Security Set Up: What? and what is it used for? Well, once you have developed a report, next question your client will ask you about the security of the report i.e. only the specified users can access the report. here is a simple solution and for that you need to do some Report Security Set Up in the system:

  1. Click on Navigator ( 3 horizontal lines on the left) –>Tools –> Security Console.
  2. Click on Create Role.
  3. Give the Role Name and Role Code. Choose Role Category as “BI – Abstract Roles”. A Description if needed.

4. Keep clicking Next till you reach User tab.
5. Click on add User. add all the users you want to be able to access/run the report.
6. Click Next and then “Save and Close”.
7. Now go to your report ( Navigator –> Tools –> Report AND analytics). Click on More –> Permissions.
8. Click on “+” sign. Type the name of the role in Name Field. Ensure that List Field has the value as “Application Roles”. Click on Search. Your newly created role will be visible in Accounts Field. Shuffle it to the right.

9. On Bottom right corner, change the value of “Set Permission To” as you deem fit. if the standard options don’t help you, choose it as Custom.
